Winter Intersession - Specialty

All programs close at 4pm on December 24 and 31

For the duration of the 2018 Winter Intersession, online registration for each week is available up until the Wednesday of the week before. All registrations submitted or postmarked after the December 14 deadline will incur a $15 late fee per registration, regardless of the manner in which it was submitted.

The lunch program is offered as a convenience, and does not have a preset menu. Lunches will typically consist of a sandwich with cold-cuts, 2 different types of snacks, and a drink. On the first day of each week, children signed up for the lunch program will receive a personal pan pizza and a drink. The lunch program must be ordered by 5pm on the Wednesday of the week before you wish to start.

 

Walk Ins

Online registration closes at 6pm on the Wednesday before the first day of program. Once the online option is disabled, all registrations must be submitted manually by walking in a completed registration form to the Program Coordinator at your preferred location. If the program has already begun, then it is best to contact the site phone listed on each calendar, before walking-in to the site.

The acceptance of walk-in registrations is ultimately determined by the Program Coordinator and is contingent on space availability. All program activities are planned in advance, and there may be instances in which we cannot change the reservation or may not have enough space on the bus to accommodate additional students. While we will do our best to work with every family, there is no guarantee that all walk-in registrations will be accepted.

Camp Bishop Museum

Description

Kama`aina Kids and Bishop Museum have partnered to create a special day camp experience, at one of Hawaii’s most cherished destinations. Camp Bishop Museum is a combination of weekly excursions and on-site activities, which includes daily access to the Science Adventure Center, Hawaii Hall and Bishop Museum’s latest exhibits. It is the perfect blend of hands-on learning at Bishop Museum and the experiential excursions of Kama‘aina Kids. Join us during the winter intersession for a week of Extreme Space. Experience the thrill of space as we travel out-of-this-world and discover some of the more curious and extreme aspects of our universe!

Camp Sea Life Park

Space Limited to 40 Campers

Description
Join Kama‘aina Kids at Sea Life Park, and discover the wonders of the ocean. It’s the perfect opportunity to snorkel with stingrays, splash around with dolphin, or shake a tail-feather in the bird sanctuary. Each day holds a new adventure for young campers, as they get a glimpse into the world of Sea Life Park’s animal trainers.

Keiki-Phit Program

December 26 – 31 (Winter session consists of all 4 days)
8am - 5:30pm (Program begins at 8am)

Description

Keiki-Phit is a compilation of basic physiology and fun activities to enhance the physical and emotional health of Hawaii’s keiki. The program is led by Coach Byron Mello—Head Coach at Moanalua High School and founder of Performance Basketball Clinics. Coach Byron and his team teach “basic” movement patterns and the proper techniques of athletic training fundamentals, with the ultimate goals of enhancing performance, preventing injury and building self-confidence.

Activities also include: Aerobic Exercise and Games, Walk/Jog/Run games, Cooperative “Buddy” games, Personal Best Challenges, S.P.A.R.K (Sports Play and Active Recreation Training for Kids) activities, Basketball and more!
